The mission of Alabaster House is to provide spiritual resources to government leaders in our nation’s capital through confidential prayer, biblical devotionals, and friendship.
The Alabaster House Gathering is a ministry dinner for members of Congress and congressional spouses held on Capitol Hill.
Fly In Fellowship is a reception and ministry event for government leaders, members of Congress, and congressional spouses. Fly In Fellowship is the first place of meeting for members and spouses upon arriving in DC. Help us start the congressional work week in a powerful way full of encouragement, vital fellowship, and godly perspective.
Why Sponsor?
Most leaders in Washington, D.C. have substantial workloads, coupled with significant time away from family and home. This creates great strain on their lives emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Once a member of Congress is elected, or government leader is appointed he/she is immediately thrust into the most challenging circumstances, struggling to manage the demands of the position against maintaining a family, leading well, and not becoming a negative statistic in the process.
The purpose of the Alabaster House Gathering and Fly in Fellowship is:
To provide a safe place where leaders and their spouse can be themselves and not be known by their title or what they do.
To create an atmosphere whereby leaders can invest in and strengthen their marriage.
To be a first point of contact whereby leaders and spouses can be encouraged in the fellowship of Christian community.
To supply godly direction, wisdom, and enact discussion on life struggles, addressing the pressures of balancing family life with the demands of Washington.
To introduce government leaders to a friendship with Alabaster House and with other leaders, that will prove invaluable to their ongoing support and survival to thrive in their calling to lead our nation.
To ensure that every leader and their spouse leave closer to the Lord than when they arrived. Personal prayer and ministry are a part of each Gathering and Fly In Fellowship. Leaders additionally receive invitations to attend the Alabaster House Chapels and other ministry events.
Opportunities
There may be opportunities to join the Executive Director and/or Founders in praying and ministering to those in attendance. This is not a guarantee; however, it is left to the discretion of the Executive Director at the time of the event. Flexibility and the ability to go with the flow is essential.
Expectations
Pastors work with the Outreach Director to go over expected protocol. Confidentiality of participants is required. Request the Alabaster House Guidelines and Protocol agreement for detailed information, sign, and return this agreement to the Executive Director info@alabasterhouse.org. Pastoral sponsors will have the opportunity to dialogue with members of Congress and congressional spouses, dine with leaders, and engage in conversation. These Gatherings typically take place in a residential home and provide a unique, quaint, and undiscovered way to receive an inside exclusive and partner with Alabaster House to strengthen leaders. Given the great demands on leaders’ time, Alabaster House cannot guarantee the number of participants at any given ministry event.
